ITEMS DISCUSSED

  1. President Jim Bope called the meeting to order approximately 7:30 a.m. January 15, 1997 with 14 members in attendance.
  2. Treasurer’s report: Wes Brendsel reported that we have approximately $611.75 in the bank. We hope that Wes can be a little more precise with the balance in the future! (just kidding, Wes!) Wes also stated that some members still need to get their first quarter 1998 dues of $75.00 to him.
  3. We had 5 referrals this week.
  4. Old Business: John Kelley read a thank-you note from the Special Wish Foundation for our donation to them at Christmas time. Jim Bope asked about the status of some of the members we haven't seen at the meetings, lately. Al Huth will be contacting a couple of them to see if they are still interested in staying in the group.
  5. New Business: John Kelley said that he had a couple of inquiries about the group from the article in the Eagle-Gazette. One was from a home health care service, and the other was another business that we don't have represented in the group. He'll follow up with them, and invite them as guests to an upcoming meeting.
  6. Upcoming speakers: January 22, Al Huth; January 29, Mike Spires; February 5, Dr. Todd Walters.
  7. Jim Bope's guest, Clark Davis, Superintendent of Fairfield Union Local School District, spoke on the upcoming tax levy vote. It was very informative, and he made a good argument as to why the voters of Fairfield county should pass the levy.
